635 Drive
The Bluewhale 635 Drive is based on the Dallas Rangemaster circuit, the BC635 is a low gain silicon transistor, it's gain is similar to what would be expected from a germanium transistor with none of the draw backs of the germanium like leakage and temperature instability, this makes up the drive section of the pedal. The drive section is followed by an output buffer stage, this ensures good connectivity with other pedals or your amp. The input stage incorporates a high grade op amp which adds very little noise but has a high input impedance again aiding good connectivity and minimising damping of your guitars pickups. This op amp has adjustable input gain which can push the drive section a little or a lot. This pedal has a power filter to reduce noise which may be present on the power rails. This pedal is currently only available in compact form.
Bluewhale pedals are handcrafted to the highest standards in Bude Cornwall UK. I use only the highest quality components in my pedals to ensure the best tone and a long and reliable life. The enclosure is made of diecast Aluminium with a tough and attractive powder coat finish, the footswitch incorporates a halo LED indicator light, red when true bypass mode is selected, blue when the pedal is engaged, you can always see exactly where to stomp, even on the darkest stage.
